On the 9th of October at the press conference Ukrainian real Estate Club (URE Club) officially presented the new classification of Business centres in Kiev, which was developed with the participation of Pickard’s professionals. Creation of uniform standards is important for all real estate players, who want to have the same understanding of the standard of office properties, offered to the market.
The new classification includes only classes A and B (class C was intentionally excluded from the system) and determines altogether 40 criteria (obligatory and recommended). The classification has 5 main functional groups, such as location, architecture of the building, parking, engineering systems and property management.
The classification is supposed to be reviewed after 3 years. During this time URE Club Committee of office real estate will create the new map of business centres in Kiev taking into account the reconsideration of CBD Borders (by the way, according to this new classification class A properties should not necessarily be located within the limits of the current CBD).
“Regular reconsideration of given classification in order to timely reflect current changes and innovations, associated with the introduction of new materials and technologies, will inevitably accompany the development and growth of Kiev and Ukrainian real estate markets”, said Sergey Gerasimov, Director of the Commercial Real Estate Department in Pickard. “We appreciate the fact that URE Club took on the responsibility to develop a common platform for discussion and agreement on the standards, accepted by all the professional market players.”
